Aluminium compression latch complies with EU fire standard

Southco is adding an aluminium version of its E3 VISE ACTION Compression Latch, which delivers robust, vibration-resistant fastening. The aluminium E3 meets the European fire resistance requirement for railway applications and is suitable for a wide variety of industries.

The E3 Compression Latch features lightweight, aluminium construction and provides higher strength and superior cycle life for heavy duty installations. Commonality with existing products allows for simplified installation. The aluminium E3 Compression Latch also complies with European Standard EN45545, which dictates operability requirements for components specified into railway applications.

Global Product Manager Duncan McArdle adds: "Southco is the first to introduce a lightweight, aluminium compression latch that is compliant with EN45545. The aluminium E3 Compression Latch offers an option to upgrade to a higher-strength, corrosion-resistant latch compared to latches constructed of zinc alloy. The aluminium E3 is suitable for use in a variety of transportation applications as well as across numerous other industries."
