Applying the new Machinery Directive - advice from the HSE

Phil Papard, Head of Product Safety at the UK's HSE (Health and Safety Executive), is to present a paper at the Drives & Controls and Plant & Works Exhibition seminar theatre, which is co-located with those two exhibitions at the NEC, Birmingham. He will give his talk on Wednesday 9 June 2010 from 14:00 to 14:30.

Papard's paper, Applying the new machinery directive (2006/42/EC), will cover four main areas:

  • Main changes and duties in the new directive
  • What is meant by 'state of the art'?
  • The role of harmonised standards and their limitations
  • Interfacing with user legislation such a PUWER

This same paper will also be delivered in the Air-Tech/IFPEX seminar theatre on Wednesday 9 June from 10:30 to 11:00.
