Unitemp is introducing a low-cost compact benchtop test chamber for simulating the effects of sunlight exposure on materials, paints and components. The Solarbox 1500 is manufactured by the Cofomegra group of Italy.
Incorporated is a Xenon light system for accelerated sun exposure with a countdown timer of up to 999 hours. A 1500W air-cooled lamp, which is deigned to simulate exposure to sunlight, is built in, and there is a control system for variable irradiance via the easy-to-use LCD control panel.
Options include a magnetic stirrer for mixing liquid samples during exposure and a water-cooled specimen table for exposure of temperature-sensitive materials. Four soda lime glass UV filters simulate indoor and outdoor exposure.
Constructed from high-quality stainless steel, the Solarbox 1500 measures 750 x 390 x 400mm, has an exposure area of 280 x 200mm and weighs 29kg.
This unit complements Unitemp's extensive range of test and monitoring chambers/ovens, and the company has the expertise to provide 'specials' to customer requirements.
The Solarbox 1500 can also be used for textiles, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, building materials and components for the electronic, electrical and automotive industries.
