Thanks to their light band, Balluff BGL Web Edge sensors not only ensure reliable detection, but also determine object positions very accurately. In-process correction is therefore simple, and reliability and product quality are significantly improved.
Balluff BGL fork-style sensors are available with 30 or 50mm openings and a generous red light field of 25mm. A resolution and repeat accuracy of
The Basic version offers two freely selectable switching outputs, the Advanced model adds a third switching output, an error output and an analogue output, while the Premium version is designed for fast, easy fieldbus linking via IO-Link. The analogue signal of 4-20mA or 0-10V is proportional to the penetration depth of the object and can be configured for a rising or falling output curve. The Basic and Advanced models of these fork sensors are available as PNP or NPN logic types.
When working in dusty environments, the BGL Web Edge has the added advantage of an integral air rinsing nozzle that prevents dust from accumulating on the optical transmitter and receiver, this is easily connected via standard pneumatic tubing.
Start-up is simple and practical using a teach-in function. Normally-open or normally-closed mode is selected by simply pressing a button, and the Advanced version allows the output to be configured as a switching or error output.
The compact processing electronics are housed in a rugged metal housing with IP67 protection. All Web Edge sensors are connected using a four-pin M12 plug and have standardised mounting holes. Balluff offers a comprehensive range of fastening and mounting products for its sensors.
