Bosch Rexroth has developed an integrated drivetrain control system for mobile machinery, encompassing efficiency, power, safety and comfort to meet industry demands, for reduced fuel consumption and noise emissions. Suitable for a wide range of hydrostatic drivetrains, the BODAS-drive DRC is embedded in Rexroth Controllers (RC) and offers flexible configuration. Due to its modular design, the DRC allows for customer extensions catering for specific application requirements.
The BODAS-drive DRC boasts an extensive selection of features, including the protection diagnosis, integrated safety and customisable driving functions. The standard package includes five interchangeable driving modes, consisting of automotive and proportional driving, inching, creep mode and engine control via CAN J1939. Modes can be switched during operation to provide accurate and comfortable handling of mobile equipment.
Ready-to-use safety functions come as standard, in keeping with EN ISO 13849 and ISO 25119. The DRC also offers application support as a given, including a service and diagnosis tool that keeps track of valuable data over time. Through its comprehensive diagnostics the DRC protects against overheating and overloading, minimising the risk of damage to vehicle components.
Additional features include energy efficiency tools, gearbox management and comfort functions. The DHC Eco Drive and Eco Work help reduce fuel consumption and noise emissions by up to 20 per cent, and the gearbox can be managed by various options, while comfort is factored in through a series of functions such as cruise control, hand throttle and tractive effort limitation.
Nick Mobbs, Project Engineer, Mobile Electronics at Bosch Rexroth, says: "There is a growing need for an integrated drivetrain control solution due to the increasing safety and efficiency requirements of mobile machinery. Our BODAS range has been developed to cater for specific industry needs, while offering the end user additional benefits.
"The DRC is designed to cover a wide range of hydrostatic configurations for ease of integration and use, in a multitude of applications."
