BPX acquires Prolocon Systems Ltd of Hatfield

BPX, a Mitsubishi Electric Technology Partner, is now able to provide its automation and engineering expertise directly to OEMs and end-users in North London and the Home Counties following its acquisition of Hatfield-based Prolocon Systems Ltd.

This move adds a seventh branch to BPX's expanding national coverage - it already has operations in Leicester, Nottingham, Wakefield, Slough, Newcastle-under-Lyme and Northampton.

Paul Judge, BPX's Business Development Manager, comments: "We are now 'local' to the greatest population density in the Home Counties and to the highest concentration of industries. A great diversity of sectors is embraced within the area: Hatfield is, of course, inextricably linked with aerospace; all aspects of food and drink from production and processing to packaging are present; light manufacturing abounds; while heavy industry is represented by automotive and power generation."

BPX specialises in the supply and support of electrical control and automation technologies, from simple relays, switches and motors, to high-tech system components such as PLCs, drives and HMIs. As a Mitsubishi Technology Partner, it is able to offer high-quality equipment backed by outstanding support services.

Roger Payne, Divisional Manager for Mitsubishi Automation Systems Division, says: "We are delighted that Prolocon and BPX have joined forces; both are staffed by hard-working professionals whose technical and applications knowledge are second to none. Combining their expertise means Prolocon instantly achieves a critical mass that can only benefit its customers.

"The Technology Partnerships status means BPX, and through them Prolocon, is a seamless extension of Mitsubishi; they have direct access to all of our support services and technical developments."
