BRE Ltd earn Atlas Copco Distributor of the Year award
BRE Ltd, based in Dundee, Tayside, has been awarded the accolade of Atlas Copco Compressors' Distributor of the Year 2012. Presenting the award, Paul Clark, Business Line Manager of Atlas Copco's Industrial Air Division, says: "BRE excelled in 2012, and this award reflects their excellent performance both in terms of sales and service. Their commitment to providing tailored solutions to meet customers' compressed air needs is key to BRE's success, and is why we anticipate further strong performance this year."
A major aspect of BRE's success in surpassing the company's sales target for 2012 has been the utilisation of Atlas Copco's diverse distributor product offering that encompasses GX, GA, compressors, screw blowers, the SF and Z-series range of small oil-free compressors, quality air solutions and service products that include air distribution pipework and air auditing software. It has also applied the control sophistication which is more in demand than ever, all of which is standard product available from Atlas Copco.
BRE's teamwork and holistic approach to identifying and meeting the application needs of a diverse regional market has contributed to achieving these outstanding results. According to Managing Director Bob Robertson says: "We look at the customer's present and future requirements and make recommendations based on audit data and close knowledge of how the application operates. That's custom engineering in its fullest sense and it's why we have maintained successful relationships with major customers and helped others to grow."
BRE was established by Bob Robertson and his wife Avril back in 1985. The company has occupied its present 12,000sq ft site for 17 years, and in order to reach this year's growth targets the management is currently engaged in recruiting additional administrative staff to augment its 20-strong sales and service team.
Although BRE's market reach extends to a broad spectrum of applications and activities - as diverse as tyre manufacturers, banks and picture framing operations - the core business is built around synergies with major industrial and marine organisations, many of whom are located on Scotland's eastern seaboard.
In the face of a difficult domestic economic climate, the company's sales strategy has been to encourage its dedicated team to go the extra mile to secure business opportunities. As Bob explains: "A typical result is that we have been able to maintain a significant revenue stream from customer companies exporting skid and containerised compressor packages to developing markets such as West Africa and beyond. Winning the Distributor of the Year award is the icing on the cake. It's seen as a just reward for the team effort and is a very significant boost to the management and staff's morale and motivation."
