Co-located exhibitions and events at the NEC Birmingham

DFA Media Ltd will again be staging its well-established and highly complementary stable of co-located exhibitions at Birmingham's NEC from 8 to 10 April 2014. The free-to-attend co-located DFA Media shows are currently up on contracted exhibitors by 57 per cent compared with the 2012 shows, while contracted floor space is up 102 per cent. The 2012 exhibitions attracted the highest visitor numbers up to that point, totalling 11,146 for the three days. This represented an increase of 29 per cent from the 8624 attendance figure of the 2010 shows, highlighting a significant return of confidence to the UK manufacturing sector.

Co-located exhibitions and events at the NEC Birmingham

Another advantage is that the DFA Media shows will again be co-located with the ever popular MACH Exhibition and National Electronics Week - jointly anticipated to bring over 40,000 visitors to the NEC in 1 week.

Complementing the exhibitions will be a full programme of free technical seminars, with speakers offering expert insight and practical advice on important and topical issues. UKTI, who will be exhibiting at European Offshore and Energy, will be at the co-located events to provide guidance and support for visitors and exhibitors alike from a trade and investment perspective. UKTI representatives will also speak at the conferences on the topic of overseas trade and investment opportunities. European Offshore & Energy will feature EnergyDialogue, a 3-day conference covering a host of energy issues together with product/solution analysis. EnergyDialogue will ensure delegates receive all the information they need directly from authorities, policy makers and expert practitioners. Additionally, TechKnowledge will feature a packed programme covering everything from detailed analyses of proven existing technology to industry innovations. Just some of the major trade organisations, OEMs and fluid power & systems manufacturers presenting papers at the event include: JCB, The British Compressed Air Society (BCAS), the Health & Safety Executive (HSE), SMC Pneumatics, Moog and Tata Steel. The Air-Tech and Fluid Power & Systems seminars are sponsored by Gardner Denver.

MDS Conference

Another major value-add at this year's event will be the staging of the Motor Driven Systems conference. Electric motor driven systems comprise 40 per cent of the world's total electricity consumption. However, many businesses are unaware of the technologies available that have the potential to significantly reduce their energy costs, and in turn the global demand for electricity by 20 per cent to 30 per cent. MDS is focused on helping industry professionals to generate major savings from motor driven apparatus - such as pumps, fans and compressors - by applying a systems engineering approach to reduce energy, improve performance and ultimately save money.

Drives & Controls

Drives & Controls 2014 will again bring together key suppliers of state-of-the-art equipment representing the multi-tasking culture of today's design engineer, covering critical areas such as energy efficiency, machine safety, drives, motion control and automation plus much more, all under one roof. Just some of the signatories to this year's show include: Beckhoff Automation; Marelli UK, Schaeffler; ILME; Leuze; Lafert Motors; B&R Industrial Automation; Micro-Epsilon; Harting; and Weg Motors.

Plant & Asset Management

Plant & Asset Management 2014 is the UK's must-attend exhibition for plant, works and maintenance engineers. The show covers developments in condition monitoring, health & safety, training, CMMS, energy efficiency, handling & storage, plus much more. The show is fully supported by The Institute of Plant Engineers (IPlantE).

Just some of the signatories to this year's show include: Artesis; AV Technology; Bosch Commercial and Industrial Heating; Byworth Boilers; C-Cubed; Infor; Kluber Lubrication; Practice Care Maintenance Services; Pruftechnik; Real Asset Management; Saacke Combustion Services; Shell Industrial Lubricants; Shire Systems; and TWI Training.

Fluid Power & Systems

Fluid Power & Systems 2014 is the only event in the UK that is 100 per cent focused on a comprehensive range of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, together with products that facilitate better electro-mechanic system design and application for improved process automation, control and monitoring.

Fully supported by the British Fluid Power Association (BFPA), the exhibition comprises the largest gathering of world-class companies displaying and demonstrating the latest in mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment. Whatever your industrial sector - whether engineering, construction, offshore/marine, oil & gas, agriculture/farming, automotive or aerospace - Fluid Power & Systems offers a convenient one-stop shop for all your fluid power and system requirements. Just some of the signatories to this year's show include: SMC, Metal Work, Tom Parker, Allswage, SKF, Moog, Argo Hytos, Indequip, Flowfit and Schwer.

European Offshore & Energy

The inaugural European Offshore & Energy exhibition will bring the entire offshore energy marketplace - exploration, production and energy generation - together under one roof.

Suppliers, manufacturers and service providers at the event will cover all sources of energy generation, including: oil & gas, nuclear power stations, coal/gas-fired power stations, biomass, wind farms, hydropower, geothermal power, photovoltaics, shale gas plus new technologies are being developed such as wave/tidal power and carbon capture & storage for power stations. Just some of the signatories to this year's show include: ARI-Armaturen, Columbus McKinnon, Corrocoat, CSE Global, Deepwater EU, Hi-Force, Rolevet, R.Stahl, Staffordshire Hydraulic Services, TFC Europe, Trig Engineering.

Air-Tech (Compressed Air and Generators)

Air-Tech, with full support from the British Compressed Air Society (BCAS), is the UK's only dedicated event for the compressed air and generators market. Air power is the second most widely used source of motive energy in the world, preceded only by electricity. Air-Tech fully caters for this need. Just some of the signatories to this year's show include: GardnerDenver, Mattei, TST Tamsan, Teseo, Hertz, Baglioni, Maziak, Direct Air, RAAL and JP Sauer.

Ian Atkinson, managing director of event organiser, DFA Media, comments: "We are delighted to report an impressive leap in the number of exhibitor signatories across the co-located shows, together with the major increase in contracted floor space. For 2014 we will build on the success of our 2012 shows by further improving the look and layout of each exhibition within our co-location of events, as well as making it as easy as possible for visitors to navigate their way around each separate event. We will also further enhance the format of our valued seminar programme for next year. The combination of leading manufacturing events, with a highly focused seminar programme, will give visitors a unique opportunity to keep abreast of the latest industry developments by visiting a single co-located event. "

Don't miss out on being a part of the UK's largest co-located industry event. For up-to-date information on the exhibitions, plus the seminar and conference programme, and to register your interest in attending presentations, please visit the exhibition websites listed below.
