Coded magnet safety switches with 20N holding force

The elobau 165 series safety switches are based on a standard size used for magnetic machine safety switches by other manufacturers; as well as the 165V62AOP model with the magnetic latching feature, there are also conventional non-latching models. The dimensions of the 165 switch, illustrated here, confirm the compact design: 88mm long x 25mm wide x 14mm high (the coded magnetic actuator shares the same dimensions).

Thanks to the 20N holding force that the switch generates magnetically, which is similar to the holding force provided by tongue-actuated safety switches, for many applications it is not necessary to install a separate mechanical or magnetic latch. Nevertheless, the magnetic latching features are designed to have some axial free play so that the magnetic field can be overcome easily when operatives need to open the guard.

Magnetic coding ensures that the switch provides high-integrity safeguarding for compliance with stringent safety standards and in applications where operatives or maintenance personnel may try to override the guard switches. Protection to IP67 and an operating temperature range of -25 to +75degC mean the switch copes easily with harsh industrial environments.

Customer can select models with either two normally-open contacts or one normally-open and one normally-closed contact. The switches can also be specified with or without indicator LEDs.
