Compact IP69K signal connector is rated for high temperatures
ITT Interconnect Solutions is introducing what is claimed to be the industry's first fully-sealed (IP69K) RoHS-compliant high-temperature signal connector. The new Metr1x range is designed to provide complete reliability and guaranteed signal integrity in extremely harsh environments and was specifically developed to fulfil the need for increased functionality and vibration resistance in complex thermodynamic conditions. ITT ICS developed the new Metr1x connector drawing on expertise gained through its highly successful Quadrax military and aerospace connectors and QXM12 mass transit range. The Metr1x series is available in different housing variants to suit applications as diverse as industrial automation and robotics, through to heavy diesel and gas engines, agricultural machinery, power generating units and defence.
Available in multiple receptacle variations, the Metr1x series features CGK size 20 contacts. The mating face adheres to M12 industry standards for two-, three- or four-way versions and standard cable configurations. Special screw-in variants allow for direct replacement of cable gland configurations and optional end bells are available. A crimped housing eliminates cable overstressing and provides sealing up to IP68.
Metr1x connectors operate at 100V DC with a current rating of 4A and provide EMI shielding. Devices conform to UL94-V0. The stainless steel design, sealed to IP69K, remains fully dry and functional even in conditions involving heavy salt spray, engine oil, diesel, kerosene and similar noxious fluids. Proven in temperatures up to 150degC, Metr1x connectors withstand vibration up to 20 'g' and shock to a maximum of 50 'g'.
