Compact pressure sensors feature integral display
Festo says that its SPAB pressure sensors, which the company presented at SPS/IPC/Drives 2007, offer reliability at a low price. In addition, the sensor is extremely compact, measuring just 30 x 30mm, yet it also benefits from an integral three-colour display of the current pressure in a choice of bar, kPa or psi.
These sensors have been designed to suit the global market, so can be specified with M5, G1/8, R1/8 or NPT threaded pressure connections. Switching outputs can be PNP or NPN, or an analogue output can be specified if preferred. Customers can also choose between an integral cable or M8 plug connector for the electrical connection.
Set-up is said to be extremely simple via the two-line display and intuitive navigation.
SPAB sensors are available for measuring pressures in the range of 0-10bar. In addition, combined negative and positive pressure measurement can be made using a range for measuring vacuum and actual pressure of -1 to +1bar. Response time is adjustable from 2.5-5000ms. A kit for front panel installation and a protective cover are also available as accessories.
