Phoenix Contact's new PACT RCP current transformers for retrofitting now allow high currents to be converted into various standard analogue signals.
The two-part measuring system's handy Rogowski coil can be installed with ease on busbars and circular conductors. There is no need to remove system components. With a single coil type, alternating currents of up to 4000A can be measured. The downstream transducer is freely configurable at both the signal input and the signal output. This allows current measuring ranges to be adapted to allow each output signal to reproduce the full signal width.
Dangerous open voltages, which can arise in a current transformer, cannot occur using the Rogowski measurement technique. The system measures frequencies in a range of 16-1000Hz. The optional coil support ensures a safe fit onto the busbar, regardless of its temperature. The precise design is provided by current transformer sets with three different coil lengths, each with screw-in or push-in connection technology for the transducer.
