Tyco Electronics is launching the Corcom CU series power entry modules as the latest addition to its Corcom family. The new series includes smaller versions of switched filtered and unfiltered power inlets that are suitable for applications with panel space constraints - such as systems designed for the popular 1U (1.75inch) height equipment racks.
The CU series offers 15 filtered and eight unfiltered versions to cover a broad array of applications. Shrouded quick-connect terminals eliminate the need for soldered connections and help to reduce installation time. Furthermore, the series boosts system efficiency by contributing less heat - thereby making the inlets suitable for applications with power or cooling limitations.
Three different mounting styles are offered: flush-mount, flange, and snap-in. Current ratings range from 1-15A and the inlets are UL-recognised, CSA-certified and VDE-approved. The 15A versions tested by Underwriters Laboratories to USA and Canadian standards are VDE-approved for a 10A rating.
Tyco says the CU series power entry modules are well-suited to use on compact industrial, consumer and computer electronics, telecommunications and data communications applications.
