Cylinder sensors are more exact, with small hysteresis

The AMR element integrated into the new T-slot cylinder sensors from IFM Electronic enables extremely sensitive detection of magnetic fields. The sensors are therefore particularly suitable for applications requiring exact position sensing and a small hysteresis, such as short-stroke cylinders, for example.

With a short housing, the element positioned within the sensor, and the sensor's fastening system, these units fit very short-stroke cylinders and detect in and out positions.

For installation, the sensor is placed into the slot from the top. The sensor is locked in position by its self-locking mechanism. The moulded cable and fixing - by means of a screw - provide strain relief.

The semiconductor outputs are PNP (NC and NO) or NPN (NO). Cables with M8 or M12 connectors and open cable ends are available. An LED integrated into the housing indicates the switching status. The operating voltage is between 10 and 30V.

IFM says these cylinder sensors operate without wear; compared to reed switches, their life is almost unlimited. With a high switching frequency up to 3000Hz, they are suitable for quick piston movements.

Thanks to the wide selection of optional adapters, the 25mm short T-slot sensors can be fixed to almost every clean-line, tie rod, integrated profile or trapezoidal slot cylinder, as well as to many special slots.
