Danfoss Drives will be exhibiting both the VLT and VACON range of drives as a single entity for the first time in the UK at Drives and Controls Show, 12-14 April 2016 on stands D160 and G100.
Visitors to the show will see the new additions to the popular VACON 100 range of AC variable speed drives from Danfoss. These include models rated up to 800kW, that offer the same combination of features that have been responsible for the success of the smaller drives in the range. VACON 100 drives are now available with extended power ratings up to 630kW for use on 400V supplies and up to 800kW for use on 690V supplies.
Usable in virtually all industrial and commercial applications, even the most demanding, the new higher-power additions to the VACON 100 range are available as IP00 modules for mounting within control panels and in enclosed versions with a choice of IP21 or IP54 ingress protection ratings. All versions feature compact construction.
In addition to the VACON 100 range, the new VLT Midi Drive FC 280 will also be presented for the first time in the UK. The "flexible and user-friendly VLT Midi Drive is a new generation AC drive for precise and efficient motor control. It offers just the right mix of features to fit a diversity of automation and machine building applications such as conveyor systems, mixers, packaging, pumps, fans and compressors.
The VLT Midi Drive boasts excellent control performance, functional safety, and flexible fieldbus communication. Integrated features such as DC choke, RFI filter, Safe Torque Off (STO) and brake chopper eliminate the need to find space and budget to install extra components. It also retrofits the popular VLT FC 2800 drive.
The new VLT Midi Drive drives come in three-phase versions for operation on 380 to 480V supplies, with power ratings 0.37 to 22kW, three-phase versions for 200 to 240V supplies with power ratings of 0.37 to 3.7kW and also single-phase versions for 200 to 240V supplies with power ratings of 0.37 to 22kW.
