Distribution system cuts installation time by 80 per cent

The system provides interconnection between sensors and control units through a range of quick-lock cable connectors and different-sized distribution boxes. They are available in four-way to 10-way versions for S8 or S12 connectors and include a high-quality, fully compatible, quick-lock system as well as extremely rugged metal connectors.

Contrinex distribution boxes are positioned close to the process and provide the wiring between sensors and control units using pluggable, pre-wired cables. They are designed for use in material handling, robotics and assembly and test systems. LED indicators display operation and signal status and this significantly reduces fault diagnosis and maintenance costs as well as installation and start-up time.

The S8 distribution boxes are only 30mm wide, lightweight and extremely compact, so are suitable for situations where space is limited or on moving machine parts. They are fully potted and offer various mounting possibilities. The S8 range includes 4-, 6-, 8- and 10-way distributors with three-pole sockets, while the S12 distribution boxes are available in an assortment of four- and eight-way versions particularly suited for installation in conveyor systems.

For harsh environments, Contrinex offers rugged, fully-potted metal S12 distribution boxes that are temperature-resistant and not affected by coolants, lubricants or detergents and can also be used in wet and humid environments. AISI 303 stainless steel models, suitable for severe site conditions and in the food industry, are corrosion-resistant and protected to IP69k.
