EEF White paper: performance management for productivity

The white paper provides an overview of performance management and its benefits, as well as eight ways companies can make performance management work effectively in their business. These include encouraging the right blend of skills and competencies, identifying where staff sit on the "Skill Will Matrix', making the most of appraisals and setting objectives.

It also covers common errors to avoid when assessing performance, learning to give effective feedback, building dignity and respect into company culture and managing poor performance fairly and lawfully.
