Embedded motherboards support Intel Core 2 Duo
In addition to the Intel Core Duo and Intel Core Solo processor family, Kontron is launching a family of embedded motherboards that supports the new Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7400. This new 2 x 2.16 GHz processor delivers 64-bit technology and 4MB shared L2 cache that can be dynamically assigned to each of the cores.
The new product family consists of three basic products in different form factors: ATX, Flex-ATX and Mini-ITX. The Kontron 986LCD-M/mITX is the smallest and most dense board with a compact size of only 17 x 17cm and one extension slot. The Kontron 986LCD-M/FLEX and the Kontron 986LCD-M/ATX offer the same feature set but have three and six I/O slots, respectively. All three boards are based on the Intel 945GM Express + ICH7R Embedded Chipset.
Intel's Core 2 Duo mobile processor and on-board Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 provide extreme performance for embedded applications with low power consumption. Each board is designed for processor- and graphics-intensive applications such as gaming, medical technology, multimedia, point-of-information, point-of-sale, data communications, and high-end thin clients.
The Kontron 986LCD-M family has superior graphics performance with Intel's next-generation on-board graphics controller - the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950. The board is also equipped with various video outputs, such as on-board LVDS, 16x PCI-Express slot and dual digital LCD drives, supported via the SDVO interface by ADD2 cards.
