EN 954-1 extension confirmed as two years

CEN has confirmed to MachineBuilding.net that EN 954-1 presumption of conformity to the Machinery Directive has been prolonged for two years, up to 31 December 2011. Furthermore, Marie Poidevin of CEN stresses that the two-year extended transition period (in which users can choose between EN 954-1 or EN ISO 13849-1) is definitely confirmed, even though the latest list of standards harmonised to the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC (published 18 December 2009) does not include EN 954-1.
