Enclosure cooling units are ATEX-certified

Rittal's TopTherm Plus enclosure cooling units are now available with ATEX 22 certification, allowing them to be safely operated in environments where a cloud of combustible dust could possibly occur.

Enclosure cooling units are ATEX-certified

Available with 1kW and 1.5kW outputs, the units are all certified to device group 3D and operate in environments that may contain, or have activities that produce, explosive or potentially explosive atmospheres. Dusts can be produced from many everyday materials such as coal, wood, grain, sugar, certain metals and synthetic organic chemicals. A cloud of combustible dust in the air can explode if ignited.

On units designed to be used in this type of environment, the controller is situated inside the enclosure for extra protection and has a specially designed fan and filter system that contains no brushes - to eliminate potential hazardous sparks.

Rittal's TopTherm Plus range incorporates features such as fault diagnostics, door switch control and PLC connection, as well as the Rittal Condenser RiNano coating to keep the unit clean and operating efficiently. Accessories such as master-slave connections, door switches, and diagnostic software are also available.
