Balluff is completely revamping its comprehensive line of fork and angle sensors. An expanded product range is now available, including four distinct product lines.
In addition to two performance-enhanced product lines with highly visible red light for standard applications and highly focused laser light for small parts detection with a resolution of down to 50um, sensors are now available with a pin-point LED using especially homogeneous red light for exact positioning tasks, plus there is a family that uses infrared light for applications in dusty environments.
Compact processing circuitry is housed in a rugged, IP67-rated metal enclosure. The sensing face of the sensor and the operator panel - consisting of an LED function indicator and two potentiometers - are integrated flush with the housing to protect from damage. Depending on the model, these sensors offer a high switching frequency of 3 or 5kHz and are available with NPN or PNP outputs.
Start-up is said to be simple and practical. All that is needed is a common screwdriver to set light-on or dark-on switching using a potentiometer and setting the desired sensitivity.
These new sensors are fully compatible with their predecessors mechanically and electrically. They again provide a three-pin M8 connection and standard through-holes for mounting.
Also available are two versions of sensor holder to suit the entire range of through-beam sensors. The holders are also fully compatible with the new Balluff BMS universal mounting system.
