Eriks UK now sells tools, tooling, PPE and storage
Eriks UK is moving into the tools supply market. This announcement is part of a strategic plan to increase Eriks UK's areas of business to fit more closely with the Eriks Group's activities. A Tools and Maintenance catalogue will carry information about more than 25,000 products that are newly available.
With its expansion into the tools market, Eriks UK is meeting market demand and the requests of its customers, aiding UK industry in its drive to consolidate its supplier base and reduce its total acquisition costs. This, allied to the engineering expertise that is inherent within Eriks UK, has enabled the company to begin generating enquiries to gain tools supply contracts with leading UK manufacturers. The combination of products and services Eriks UK can now offer enables manufacturers to potentially rationalise their supplier base and enhance productivity.
For engineers the catalogue is easy to use and offers competitive pricing. Steve Bodsworth of Eriks states: "Just as importantly, there is a combination of products and brands that they are familiar with - such as Dormer, Stanley, 3M and Rocol - that we have available alongside quality European brands, which they may not be aware of, but which the Eriks Group has been supplying for years."
New catalogue
There are 12 main product categories within the new catalogue covering: abrasives; adhesives; cutting tools; hand tools; indexable tooling; janitorial; lathe tooling; lubricants; clamping; PPE; precision tooling (including measurement) and storage. Plus, with the introduction of the Format range of products, Eriks UK is introducing a high-quality private label that is used extensively throughout Europe and by early-adopters in the UK. Format products are fully certified and traceable and include: cutting tools; workshop materials and equipment; hand tools; abrasives; measuring equipment; and clamping products.
All Format products and a Fastrack range of production-critical items, numbering 12,000 SKUs (stock keeping units), are available for same-day or next-day delivery from Eriks UK's headquarters in Halesowen. All other items fit within the Eriks Group's well-respected logistics capability and are supported via the European Logistics Centre in Germany.
Commenting on the initiative, Steve Bodsworth says: "This announcement is an interesting one as it is in many ways customer-driven. As well as maintenance engineers, this expansion now sees us address production engineers, machine tool operators and those with health and safety responsibility.
