ESAB launches FR range of fire-resistant clothing
ESAB is launching the FR range of fire-resistant clothing for welders. From the FR Economy black overall, right up to the Phoenix FR / Leather jacket and trousers, each item has been designed and manufactured to suit the needs of the welding operative.
The FR Economy overall, made from an inherently flame-resistant material, comes with two chest pockets with concealed single-stud fastening. The garment features a side-elasticated back for better comfort and a concealed-stud front with brass studs. In addition to the two patch chest pockets there is an internal mobile phone pocket, straight hip pockets and a back ruler pocket. Stress areas are reinforced with double bar tacking
The Proban Leather jacket and trousers form a suit designed for protection during heavy-duty welding. The fabric makes the garments lightweight, breathable and more comfortable to wear, and judicious use of leather ensures good protection against spatter and droplets of molten metal in the most exposed areas. The Phoenix FR Leather ensemble comes with:
- Three concealed inner pockets
- Reinforced Kevlar stitching
- Stand up collar
- Front Velcro fastening
- Double bar tacking
The ESAB FR range also includes the FR Welders coverall. This garment conforms to the latest ISO welding standards, ensuring superior protection, performance and comfort. The Phoenix FR material is inherently flame-retardant and high-performing, meaning that the coveralls maintain their FR properties throughout their lifetime. The zip is protected and the design of the coverall ensures ease of movement. The stand up collar with Velcro fastening covers the operative's neck to prevent burning. With the Velcro wrist adjustment it is easy to get the sleeve inside the welding glove.
ESAB's FR Welders Jacket conforms to the latest ISO welding standards, ensuring superior protection, performance and comfort. The Phoenix FR material ensures that the jacket maintains its FR properties during its lifetime.
The FR range is complemented by the new ESAB FR Black Flame-retardant, antistatic welders' Jersey and welders' Fleece and jumper. Both are designed entirely with the welders comfort in mind. The technical material is very soft, making it comfortable to wear. In a warm environment the garments can be worn as the outer layer whereas, in a colder environment, it should be used as a second layer under a coverall or jacket.
ESAB's FR Clothing range complies with all relevant European and International standards for welding, flame retardants and antistatic capability (ISO EN 11612 flame retardance; ISO EN 11611 welding). They are available in European sizes to EN 340.
