ESAB to exhibit at Seawork International 2011

ESAB will be exhibiting on Stand SR20 within the Ship Repair and Ship Building Pavilion at Seawork International 2011, which takes place in Southampton from 14 to 16 June 2011.

Visitors to ESAB's stand will see the latest developments in welding consumables and equipment, as well as gas cutting equipment and PPE (personal protection equipment) for use by operatives involved in welding and cutting. Experts will be available throughout the exhibition to discuss visitors' welding and cutting applications.

A popular family of welding wires used in the ship repair and ship building industries, and one that will be highlighted on ESAB's stand, is the company's Rutile Flux-Cored Wires. These all-positional wires offer excellent weldability on non- and low-alloyed steels, smooth weld metal wetting and good weld appearance. High productivity is achieved, even when welding in the vertical up position or overhead, yet the welds are defect-free with good mechanical properties and low-hydrogen weld metal.

Visitors can also see many of the different basic- and rutile-coated MMA (manual metal arc) welding electrodes applicable to ship repair and ship building. The wide choice means that users can not only select compositions and coatings that suit their applications, but also electrodes that offer high productivity and quality. A combination of low spatter, good slag release and good wetting minimises the time required for post-weld cleaning.

One of the main welding products on display will be the recently launched Caddy Mig C200i for use with solid and gasless cored wires. Compact, lightweight and portable, yet also rugged and reliable, the Caddy Mig C200i features an integral wire feeder that accepts 200mm spools. This machine is the first Caddy portable welder to benefit from ESAB's QSet automatic setting technology that delivers excellent welding performance with the minimum of effort from the user. Once the material type and thickness have been entered via the intuitive operator interface, the user simply performs a five-second test weld and the QSet system automatically optimises the short arc welding parameters. QSet then maintains a constant arc, independent of the stick-out, to ensure consistent quality and ease of use, regardless of the operating environment.

ESAB will be exhibiting a number of models from its extensive ranges of auto-darkening and passive welding helmets. Other examples of PPE and welding and cutting accessories will also be on display.

Visitors to Stand SR20 can see the products outlined above and discuss these - and any other requirements for welding and cutting equipment and consumables - with experts from ESAB. Call ESAB Publicity on +44 (0)800 3893152 or email [email protected] for more information.
