Even more "˜motive' to visit Air-Tech in 2014

In the wake of record attendance during last year's event, exhibition organiser DFA Media reports that Air-Tech 2014 (NEC Hall 3/3A, Birmingham, 8-10 April 2014) will be at least 25 per cent bigger than in 2012 and the largest event to date. The co-located DFA Media events attracted the highest visitor numbers yet in 2012; totalling 11,146. This represented an increase of 29 per cent from the 8624 attendance figure of the 2010 shows, highlighting a significant return of confidence to the UK manufacturing sector. Now, the 2014 shows are on track to be even bigger.

Even more

Air power is the second most widely used source of motive energy in the world, preceded only by electricity. And for several years now, designers of pneumatic equipment have benefitted from renewed demand as a result of the introduction of electronic controls and intelligent automation products within some pneumatic plant and equipment. There is also increased awareness in new application areas such as equipment that can be operated through Bus systems and over the Web.

In addition, end users are increasingly demanding complete pneumatic systems and, with this in mind, are outsourcing the design of their control systems to pneumatic suppliers. Consequently more and more suppliers and manufacturers will develop partnerships both to design customised end-to-end pneumatic systems and to reduce delivery lead times.

Air-Tech 2014, which is free-to-attend, will cover current key themes related to air compressor and related technology from companies from around the globe. Supported by Hydraulics & Pneumatics and Plant & Works Engineering magazines, just some of the products and services you can see at Air-Tech 2014 will include:

  • Accumulators, actuators, air delivery systems and air motors
  • Compressors, cooler tools and cylinders
  • Vacuum and generators
  • Displays & meters
  • Filters, fittings, heat exchangers and hoses
  • Instruments, lubricators, manifolds and mobile compressors
  • Pumps, regulators, sensors, software and valves

For 2014, the biennial Air-Tech exhibition will once again be co-located with complementary shows Drives & Controls and Plant & Asset Management, together with Fluid Power & Systems Exhibition and the newly launched European Offshore & Energy Exhibition, as well as MACH and National Electronics Week - bringing over 40,000 visitors to the NEC in one week.

Seminar programme

Complementing Air-Tech and its co-located exhibitions will be a full programme of FREE technical seminars, with speakers offering expert insight and practical advice on important and topical issues within industry. More information on the 2014 seminar lineup will soon be available at www.airtech-expo.com. The Air-Tech and Fluid Power & Systems seminars are sponsored by Gardner Denver.

Air-Tech's commercial director, Ryan Fuller, comments: "As air power is the second most widely used source of motive energy globally, Air-Tech affords enormous business opportunities for suppliers of compressed air and related equipment, as well as providing users with the ideal one-stop shop in order to source the very latest equipment and services currently available. The extremely positive number of visitors for Air-Tech and its co-located shows in 2012 reinforced the message that the manufacturing and engineering sectors are continuing to see increased interest in everything from equipment and services to training and guidance for things such as legal compliance etc. The 2014 Air-Tech will be at least 25 per cent bigger than 2012 and the largest event to date."

Chris Dee, executive director of the British Compressed Air Society (BCAS), says: "In addition to the who's who of the compressed air industry that will be both visiting and exhibiting at the show, Air-Tech 2014 will, like previous outings, provide the ideal forum for networking among BCAS's compressed air equipment manufacturer and distributor membership as well as the end user community. There will also be valuable benefit to be gained by the compressed air industry through keeping close links with retired individuals who have a lifetime's experience in compressed air and pneumatics. Additionally, Air-Tech will be invaluable for keeping in touch with professional advisors, as well as making contact with younger people who aim to become active in the industry after they have finished their studies."

Ian Atkinson, managing director of event organiser, DFA Media, comments: "For 2014 we will build on the success of our 2012 shows by further improving the look and layout of each exhibition within our co-location of events, as well as making it as easy as possible for visitors to navigate their way around each separate event. We will also further enhance the format of our valued seminar programme for next year. The combination of leading manufacturing events, with a highly focused seminar programme, will give visitors a unique opportunity to keep abreast of the latest industry developments by visiting a single co-located event."
