Harwin is expanding its EZ-BoardWare range of surface-mount PCB hardware products with the introduction of a new SMT Board Socket that can save considerable costs.
Harwin's innovative EZ-BoardWare surface-mount products are claimed to improve manufacturing flexibility, reduce manufacturing costs save space and improve in-field maintenance. EZ-SMT Board Sockets are said to be a much cheaper alternative to turned-contact PCB sockets for less demanding applications and, in common with all EZ-BoardWare products, are designed for automated production processes; they therefore withstand surface-mount assembly and come in standard tape-and-reel packaging.
Product Manager Paul Gillam says: "It is important to choose the correct device to match the application. Harsh operating conditions may mean that turned sockets are required; however, our EZ-SMT Board Sockets meet most requirements at a fraction of the cost."
