Advantech is releasing a series of AiMC compact microcomputers for machine automation applications. Each self-contained micro computer features a small footprint, either performance computing or low power consumption, intelligent management, security and longevity. Each comes with Advantech's SUSIAccess software for intelligent monitoring and control. With 3rd generation Intel Core processors, they deliver improved computing and graphics performance. Each intelligent micro computer offers integrators a no-nonsense, turnkey system that has already been fully verified and certified.
What makes these micro computers different is their compact, turnkey design, which not only saves space but means they can be quickly and easily deployed without prohibitive integration costs. AiMC series micro computers are typically 50 per cent smaller than traditional wall-mount systems. Up to now, most production manufacturers have adopted full-size IPCs for their machine automation applications. But increasingly, smaller systems are taking over as fewer add-on cards are becoming the norm in machine automation; for example a single motion, I/O, or artificial vision card can fulfil most applications.
AiMC series supports 3rd generation Core i7/i5/i3 processors. Compared with previous generation Core i7/i5/i3 processors, they have enhanced CPU performance and up to 50 per cent better graphic performance. Customers can also choose low-power-consumption mobile processor options for low thermal design applications. DDR3 memory up to 8GB is supported on all series and one, two, or four expansion slots are available on AiMC-2100, AiMC-3200, and AiMC-3420 respectively.
All AiMC series micro computers come with Advantech SUSIAccess intelligent management software. By incorporating Advantech SUSIAccess, IT developers and system integrators can quickly develop reliable and secure systems that remotely monitor multiple systems as well as configure, maintain and recover them. Through the SUSIAccess console, system operators can execute a number of API functions that give full remote control and access to applications. SUSIAccess incorporates secure remote backup features from Acronis, and security tools from McAfee to prevent intrusion and unauthorized access. It is also possible to use mobile devices to keep track of any system abnormalities. If problems are detected, measures can be taken before things get serious.
Advantech guarantees that all AiMC series products will be supported and supplied for at least seven years after introduction. In the case of a need for product replacement or upgrade, customers can be assured the same products and upgrade paths will be available and supported for the long run.
The AiMC series represents a shift towards more compact and more intelligent systems for industrial automation production applications. They are available now; follow the link for more information about the new AiMC compact microcomputers.
