ITT Interconnect Solutions' latest APD Aquatica connector is a new design aimed at satisfying demand from the transportation and automotive industries for products suitable for hybrid and electric vehicles. Safe connectors suitable for use in high-voltage applications are required, so ITT Interconnect Solutions has responded by developing the APD 1-way finger protective connector. Robust and reliable, this new connector ensures user safety as well as providing sealing up to IP69k and an impressive price-performance ratio.
The APD 1-way finger protective connector is said to be very easy to use and features a plastic cap to protect users' fingers. The connector receptacles mate with standard APD 1-way plugs and incorporate ITT ICS' approved APD contact, crimp and coupling nut system. Pin contacts are available with standard crimp and additional screw or bolt terminations. The connectors suit cable cross sections from 16 to 50mm2.
Electrical specifications include voltage rating up to 400V DC in mated condition with an upgrade to 630V DC possible based on normative regulations (connectors must not be mated or unmated under load). Current rating is up to 245A at 25degC.
