Firstsight Vision celebrates 10 years in business
In July 2007 Firstsight Vision celebrated 10 years of success with a Fun Day for all members of staff and their families and a team-building exercise for employees involving an 'Italian Job' style treasure hunt carried out in Mini Coopers.
The two Firstsight Vision founder companies, Pinnacle Vision and Vortex Vision, both started trading in 1997 and joined forces to become Firstsight Vision in 2001. Firstsight further strengthened its position in the vision industry in 2004 by becoming part of the European Stemmer Imaging Group.
Mark Williamson and David Hearn, founders of Pinnacle Vision and Vortex Vision, continue to be directors of Firstsight Vision. Williamson comments: "We have seen many changes in our industry in ten years of trading and have embraced change ourselves while continually striving to be the best. Our merger with the Stemmer Imaging Group in 2004 was probably the boldest step, which is now bearing fruit as can be seen in our results for 2006/2007 which show double-digit growth to a turnover to £5.9M. Growth is set to continue above target for 2007/2008.
"We remain independent of technology but offer our customers the product availability and keenest pricing due to Europe-wide purchasing and warehousing. Sharing our technical knowledge within the Stemmer Imaging group also enables us to deliver more help and support over single-country or single-product suppliers. We look forward to the next ten years, with more changes in technology and a changing market. The company aims to maintain its policy of offering a portfolio of the highest quality products and providing the best service and support to new and existing customers."
