Fluid Power & Systems gears up for 2014

Fluid Power & Systems (NEC Hall 3/3A, Birmingham, 8-10 April 2014) is the only event in the UK that is 100 per cent focused on a comprehensive range of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, together with products that facilitate better electro-mechanic system design and application for improved process automation, control and monitoring.

Fluid Power & Systems gears up for 2014

Fully supported by the British Fluid Power Association (BFPA) this free-to-attend exhibition is a gathering of world-class companies displaying and demonstrating mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment. Whatever your industrial sector - whether engineering, construction, offshore/marine, oil & gas, agriculture/farming, automotive or aerospace - Fluid Power & Systems offers a convenient one-stop shop for all your fluid power and system requirements, including:-

  • Hydraulics: industrial and mobile, including pumps and powerpacks, cylinders, valves, motors, heat exchangers, and accumulators. Filters and sealing technologies.
  • Pneumatics: valve and valve islands, linear and rotary actuators, air motors, FRLs and other treatment technologies.
  • Systems: Electro-hydraulic & pneumatic systems design; CAN bus technology; process automation; monitoring & control; modelling & simulation.
  • Instrumentation: Sensors, switches and controls as applied to fluid power: Temperature, flow, pressure, liquid level, position.

For 2014, the biennial Fluid Power & Systems exhibition will be co-located with complementary shows Air-Tech, Drives & Controls and Plant & Asset Management, together with the newly launched European Offshore & Energy Exhibition, as well as MACH and National Electronics Week - bringing over 40,000 visitors to the NEC in 1 week.

In the wake of record attendance during its 2012 co-located events, exhibition organiser DFA Media is optimistic that the 2014 outing will exceed both the exhibitor and visitor numbers of the 2012 shows, which attracted the highest visitor numbers yet; totalling 11,146 for the three-day co-located event. This represented an increase of 29 per cent from the 8624 attendance figure of the 2010 shows, highlighting a significant return of confidence to the UK manufacturing sector.

Exhibitor update

Just some of the recent signatories to next year's show include:

  • SMC
  • Metalwork
  • Tomparker
  • Allswage
  • SKF
  • Moog
  • Argo Hytos
  • Indequip
  • Flowfit
  • Schwer

Seminar programme

Complementing the exhibitions will be a full programme of FREE technical seminars, with speakers offering expert insight and practical advice on important and topical issues. At a time when engineers are under increasing pressure, and time out of the office for attending exhibitions needs to be balanced against heavy workloads, one growing justification is attending a well-balanced, independent and focused seminar programme where gaining further industry knowledge is at the core. More information on the Fluid Power & Systems 2014 seminar line-up, together with the programme for its co-located presentations, will soon be available at www.fluidpowersystems-expo.com. The Fluid Power & Systems and Air-Tech seminars are sponsored by Gardner Denver.

Fluid Power & Systems' commercial director, Ryan Fuller, comments: "The Fluid Power & Systems exhibition is an important addition to the existing roll-call of DFA Media co-located events and should be warmly welcomed by both visitors and exhibitors alike as a means to provide a fully up-to-date picture of where today's fluid power industry stands technologically."

Ian Morris, director of the British Fluid Power Association (BFPA), says: "Together with the more traditional mechanical hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic disciplines, electro-hydraulics systems are now becoming increasingly common within various industry sectors - and with many convincing benefits to offer. Indeed, it is impossible to ignore the impressive advances in electronics with fluid power systems; offering benefits in all areas; including fuel consumption, noise, emissions and systems monitoring. Fluid Power & Systems is designed to be truly reflective and representative of these trends, and many of our industry's leading brands will be in attendance at the exhibition to explain how such state-of-the-art equipment and systems could prove valuable for your organisation."

Ian Atkinson, managing director of event organiser, DFA Media, comments: "For 2014 we will build on the success of our 2012 shows by further improving the look and layout of each exhibition within our co-location of events, as well as making it as easy as possible for visitors to navigate their way around each separate event. We will also further enhance the format of our valued seminar programme for next year. The combination of leading manufacturing events, with a highly focused seminar programme, will give visitors a unique opportunity to keep abreast of the latest industry developments by visiting a single co-located event."
