Free brochure for bearings users in the cement industry
NSK is publishing a new brochure, "Bearings for the Cement Industry', outlining innovative bearing and material technologies to help operators of cement plants to get more operating life, improve efficiency and reduce maintenance costs under the most challenging operating conditions.
The new publication covers all areas of cement production: quarrying and extraction; crushing, grinding and blending; material preparation; pre-homogenisation, clinker grinding, conveying packing and shipping. It achieves this with the help of a comprehensive graphic of a typical cement plant, and provides lists of bearing types that deliver improved performance in each specific plant area.
Included in the new brochure are innovative TF series bearings that offer up to 10 times the service life of standard bearings under conditions of contaminated lubricant - a common occurrence in cement mills. Developed using special heat treatment technology, TF series bearings - cylindrical roller, spherical, deep grooved and tapered roller - also offer up to 40 per cent improvement in seizure resistance and up to four times the service life of standard bearings at 160degC.
In addition to TF series bearings, NSK has developed a technology for bearings that are difficult to access and/or are used places where oil and grease absorbing dust is produced. This technology, Molded Oil (TM), can transform the performance of bearings used in cement plants by replacing existing, and often costly, methods of lubricating machine parts.
NSK offers Molded Oil (TM) technology on standard deep-groove ball bearings and spherical roller bearings in outside diameter sizes up to 250mm. Prior to filling the bearings with Molded Oil (TM) their interior surfaces are specially treated. As a result, bearing torque is not much higher than that of standard grease-lubricated bearings.
The new brochure also provides details of NSK's Asset Improvement Programme (AIP). AIP is designed for end-user bearing customers in the cement industry that are looking for more than just product supply. Rather, they are looking for a value-added service that actually helps them to reduce operating costs, improve efficiency and profitability. These objectives are achieved by delivering tangible savings to assets, such as equipment and machinery, and also by improving the working knowledge of maintenance and engineering personnel.
