The Nielsen Norman Group has recognised the user interface of HBM's GEN2i mobile high-speed data recorder with an international award for outstanding user-friendliness. The data recorder features up to 64 individually configurable channels for use in both continuous data logging and fast sweeps. Sampling rates of up to 100MS/s can be reached even when numerous channels are recorded synchronously. The data recorder features a modular layout for flexible and simple adaptation to a wide range of applications.
HBM developers placed special emphasis on making operability as simple as possible. All functions are controlled from the large touchscreen, eliminating the need for a keyboard and mouse. Gesture control, a familiar feature of smartphones, is included to zoom in on data or scroll through data records based on finger movements.
The judges emphasised the generously dimensioned data display on the screen, although an abundance of control options is also available. They also praised the fact that new users can easily operate the instrument while advanced users still have quick access to important functions.
