Gesture-controlled operating system for machine visualisation

The new Lenze v800 operator terminals are more than a modern multi-touch HMI - they are a complete machine control system with Intel processors and updated visualisation software. Both innovative and user-friendly, the new multi-touch operating system for machine visualisation from Lenze makes it easier to operate and monitor machines.

Gesture-controlled operating system for machine visualisation

Operation of the ergonomic gesture-controlled screen, familiar to us from the daily use of smartphones and tablets, is easy to learn. Commands such as tap, pinch, zoom, swipe and flick are possible. It represents a successful combination of the most up-to-date hardware, innovative software and an ergonomic operating concept. Optimal scalability is ensured by different hardware variants with screen sizes from 13.3" to 24" plus adaptable visualisation software.

Increasing individualisation of products brings with it the challenge of minimising set-up times to increase machine productivity. Short set-up times can only be achieved when machines are as easy as possible to operate. Lenze is therefore focusing on simple operating concepts and matching visualisation systems, in the form of modern high-definition screens and software with multi-touch capability.

The multi-touch functions and gesture-based operating control of the new v800 terminals pave the way for ergonomic operating concepts that display process information much more clearly than before. Navigation is now considerably easier for users than with traditional menu-based systems - so it can be intuitively learned within a short space of time. There is also the option for secure two-hand operation in order to eliminate the risk of operating errors when using a single hand. Users can even create and implement their own one-finger and multi-finger gestures.

The hardware of the new operating terminals is supplied as an externally mounted Panel PC with IP65 enclosure, the v800 protec, as well as an embedded panel, the v800. They consist of 4th generation Intel processors, capacitive glass touchscreens, and integrated solid-state storage with screen sizes from 13.3" upwards. The new Lenze VisiWin 7 visualisation software based on WPF technology is designed to work with machine control or a supervisory control level.

Together the v800 operating system and the matching VisiWin 7 visualisation software are easy to integrate into a machine automation concept. For the machine operators this combination reduces downtime, cuts out errors and boosts production efficiency.
