The new expert teams cover all of the core sectors Harmonic Drive customers operate in, including Robotics, Handling and Automation, Machine Tool, Mechanical Engineering and Medical Technology, Optics and Precision Engineering, Aerospace, Defence and Special Environments.

Graham Mackrell, managing director of Harmonic Drive UK says: "Pooling our technical knowledge means Harmonic Drive is ideally positioned to provide our customers across Europe with quality technical advice specific to their sector. This means that we are able to quickly identify the best solutions for our customers' needs, helping them to succeed."

Bernd Wittman, Michael Krabiell and Erik Rrig make up the Robotics, Handling and Automation team, bringing together years of knowledge and experience in creating robots, automation systems and high-quality drive technology.

The Machine Tool, Mechanical Engineering, and Medical Technology team, which consists of Thomas Reuber, Eric Schwenk, Sebastian Finhold, Reinhard Garstecki, and Friedrich Mann, specialises in drive products for a wide range of machine tools, including medical applications which require maximum precision.

The key focus of the Optics and Precision Engineering team is the move towards smaller high-precision components, which places more demands on accurate machines and manufacturing. Michael Heins, Thomas Schmitz and Gerhard Mhring make up this team.

Finally, Martin Bhmer, Sebastin Mller and Peter Becker of the Aerospace, Defence and Special Environments team apply their special application knowledge to the combination of extreme environmental conditions combined with high reliability at zero maintenance.

Mackrell says: "This new organisational structure will greatly benefit our clients in the UK and across Europe, as we have direct access to these market and product specialist teams. We are committed to supporting our customers and helping them meet their goals."
