High-performance hollow actuators use stepper motors

Oriental Motor supplies a range of high-performance hollow actuators for fast and highly accurate positioning of inertial loads. Moreover, by allowing the direct mounting of an index table or arm, the units reduce both parts count and maintenance requirements.

High-performance hollow actuators use stepper motors

These DG series actuators feature a large-diameter hollow section, with an output table on which a table or arm can be mounted directly. The clear bore is advantageous in that it simplifies wiring and piping. With their use of a two-phase alpha-step motor and closed-loop control, the actuators eliminate the risk of mis-steps and enable higher speeds to be achieved for faster positioning. Nevertheless, the user-friendly features of a stepping motor are retained.

The highly accurate positioning offered by the DG series is a function of the actuator's gear reduction mechanism, which assures a repetitive positional accuracy of +/-15sec. Lost motion is quoted as 2min. Available in sixteen frame sizes from 2.36 to 7.87in2, for power supplies ranging from 24V DC to single- or three-phase AC at 230V, the DG series actuators are RoHS-compliant and conform with UL, CSA and CE safety standards.
