High-quality linear and rotary axes offer value for money

The domiLINE linear slides and domiLINE rotary axes are typically used for making manual adjustments on machinery and special-purpose equipment, ranging from packaging machinery to laboratory instruments. For example, they can be used to position machine vision cameras or sensors when a machine changeover is required for the production of a different product or variant, or they can position cutting heads or print heads.

Multi-axis positioning

An important benefit of the domiLINE family is the dovetail slots that enable units to be mounted to each other or a base plate quickly, easily and accurately. Standard mounting plates are available for locating axes at 90 degrees or 45 degrees to each other. Customers can easily create multi-axis positioning systems with any combination of X, Y, Z and rotary axes - and the availability of 45-degree mounting plates and rotating mount plates provides machine builders with the scope for creating almost any multi-axis positioner. Axes are delivered ready-assembled, which saves the customer valuable time.

domiLINE linear axes are available in four different sizes (with corresponding load ratings) and in standard stroke lengths of 5mm to 100mm. Custom lengths can be manufactured to order. There is also a choice of two sizes of rotary unit, 55mm and 80mm in diameter.

High-quality linear and rotary motion

Andrew Mason, the manager for automation sales at RA Rodriguez, explains what UK customers like about the domiLINE products: "The first things customers comment on is the high-quality feel of these German-manufactured axes. On the linear slides, this is largely due to the precision guideways and anti-backlash nut on the lead screw; on the rotary axes the high-quality feel is down to the precision worm gearing. In addition, customisation can include powered versions driven by stepper motors and toothed timing belts, bi-parting slides for adjustment either side of a centreline, non-driven slides for use in parallel with driven slides when a load need to be spread over a wider base, operation via a pneumatic cylinder, and higher-specification lead screw nuts for high-temperature applications.
