How to achieve both machine safety and higher productivity
Rexroth has created a set of useful web-based resources that will help machine builders use machinery safety to boost productivity. The opening page states: "Whether you are designing a new system or changing an existing one, you can achieve better performance, better ergonomics, less downtime and a higher degree of flexibility with Safety on Board. Rexroth knows how different control system technologies interact intelligently and understands exactly what your application needs."
'Safety on Board' is the term used by Rexroth for its philosophy of using intelligent planning and standard-compliant products to both achieve the required safety and boost productivity - and the products are, of course, backed up by the company's extensive range of services.
Resources available via the website include information about standards and regulations (such as the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC), an e-Learning machinery safety training course 'Basic knowledge of functional safety', and a number of downloads:
