EEF, the UK-based manufacturers' organisation, is running a series of regional risk assessment workshops in partnership with the HSE (Health and Safety Executive) during October 2008. The workshops, which take place in and around European Week, will help to dispel many of the myths about risk assessments and communicate sensible risk management in practice.
Actors and humour will help to show how to avoid risk assessments becoming a bureaucratic nightmare. HSE and EEF speakers will then work through real-life practical examples of risk assessments and how they can be done successfully with a minimum of fuss.
The workshops are relevant to anyone managing a business, whatever the size and whatever the sector. They will be an excellent opportunity to identify best and worst practice and to dispel many of the myths surrounding risk assessments.
Taking place in regional EEF offices, the venues and dates are as follows:
Places are expected to go quickly, but businesses can book places by contacting the person named on the events schedule at www.hse.gov.uk/campaigns/euroweek/workshops.htm.
