Hybrid camera incorporates digital and thermal imaging

SKF is launching a low-cost, easy-to-use hybrid digital camera offering both thermal and 2 Megapixel visual imaging, suitable for use by maintenance technicians with a limited knowledge of thermal imaging. The new SKF TKTI 10 thermal camera operates in a similar way to a digital camera but with a useful feature that allows thermal and visual images to be blended for easy image interpretation.

Using proprietary array-based detector (ABD) technology, images are easily viewed on a large backlit 3.5inch screen and can be saved to a micro SD card. Unlike low-end thermal imagers, two spot temperatures can be displayed on the screen and these can be moved independently to select an area of interest.

For experienced thermographers the camera also has auto temperature ranging, eight colour palettes, selectable emissivity, reflected temperature compensation, hot and cold spot finding, temperature area measurement, automatic and user-selectable level and span, isotherm display, temperature gradients, and user-selectable temperature units and image browser.

Areas of application for which the TKTI 10 can be used include the electrical, industrial, automotive, HVAC and building services, plus the food sector. The camera is supplied complete with all accessories and software in a padded carrying case.
