Reliance Precision Mechatronics is now supplying the IDEA External Linear Programmable Actuators manufactured by Haydon Kerk Motion Solutions. These RoHS-compliant linear actuators are fully programmable and feature size 17 stepper motors.
The external linear IDEA programmable actuator is suitable for small gantry robots, motion systems for optics and lasers, high-resolution imaging, precision fluid dispensers, and other applications requiring precise linear motion.
Compact and easy to use, the IDEA actuator comprises an electronic drive and a fully programmable control unit, integrated with a linear actuator in a single package. A choice of screw pitches enables customers to specify actuators for fine-resolution linear motion, with stroke lengths of up to 508mm. The actuators are programmed using on-screen graphic buttons, rather than complicated command sets or other proprietary programming languages. In addition, the software enables designers to troubleshoot programs easily through line-by-line or multiple-line program execution using the interactive debug feature. Inputs and outputs can also be simulated in software before connecting any I/O hardware.
Other features include programmable current control, a single supply voltage of 12-48V DC, 2.6Arms (3.68Apeak) maximum rated current per phase, and eight opto-isolated, general-purpose I/O. The inputs are rated for 5-24V DC, 4mA maximum per input. The outputs are open-collector, 5-24V DC, 200mA maximum per output.
