Sick is launching the ICR845-2 Image Code Reader Series for high-quality, high-speed industrial product code reading of 1D and 2D Data Matrix ECC200 codes for reasons of traceability, safety and identification. Sealed to IP65 to ensure reliability under process conditions, the ICR845-2 series delivers high-reliability data reading to overcome weak contrasts, misaligned, dirty and poor markings, whether on labels, cartons or directly on the product.
Typical applications for the competitively priced ICR845-2 series include those in the automotive, pharmaceutical, electronics and packaging industries; the image code readers will even provide reliable document identification for mailing insertions.
ICR845-2 Series models include a choice of range, field of view and resolution (ICR845-2A/B/C) or high speeds with reading and decoding rates of up to 60 images per second (ICR845-2D). Popular 1D and 2D codes can be read in any orientation.
In addition, the image code readers can be selected to meet specific application needs, with side- or front-mounted reading windows, and the integrated controllable LED illumination ensures optimum reading even on curved objects.
Live picture output from the image code readers is available through a choice of interfaces or Ethernet to integrate the ICR845-2 series with existing data processing systems. According to Sick, the units are easy to install, align and set up. The Autosetup feature in the new ICR845-2 series' firmware enables the scanner to be configured and optimised in seconds, and Ethernet with ftp can be established automatically without any specialist operator knowledge.
To complement the ICR845-2 series, Sick has also published a comprehensive guide to DPM (direct part marking), which offers an unbiased view of the whole extent of techniques from marking to illumination and scanning.
