Industrial Ethernet plug can be assembled without tools
Based on the Industrial Ethernet field-installable RJ-45 modular plug, Tyco Electronics has recently released a new version, equipped with a flexible angled cable outlet that saves space during installation. This new Industrial Ethernet field-installable RJ-45 modular plug 45-degree benefits from a robust and fast termination technology, enabling a timesaving and flexible installation in the field without any special tools.
Typical applications for the IP20-rated modular plug include automation and networking. Suitable for fast (4 pos) and Gigabit (8 pos) Ethernet applications, the Industrial Ethernet field-installable RJ-45 modular plug 45-degree features a two-step locking mechanism (jack and supporting frame) for reliable connections in harsh environments; a metal lance lock with the jack and the optional supporting frame offers secondary locking.
Technical details include a rated current of 500mA per pin, a durability of 750 mating cycles and a wide operating temperature range of -40 up to +70degC. The new angled RJ-45 modular plug, suitable for use with four-wire AWG 22 and eight-wire AWG 26 cables, meets TIA/EIA 568 category 5e requirements and is complies with the requirements of IEC 60603-7-1.
