HBM is launching a comprehensive range of cost-effective packaged industrial process control (IPC) products for various applications to ensure optimised quality monitoring. The packages include products from sensors up to controllers and associated software. Cables, amplifiers for minimum/maximum value monitoring and controllers with production-relevant evaluation algorithms and software for installers and operators are available to provide plug-and-play capability.
One package focuses on digital force and displacement. It can be used, for example, to monitor press-fitting or similar processes extremely efficiently. It comprises WX displacement transducers and U9/C9 force transducers as the sensors. The sensor signals are acquired in the MP85A (DP) process controller and evaluated directly.
The evaluation algorithms used in the process controller rapidly and reliably determine whether all values lie within the specified tolerances during the press-fit process. This allows a direct statement to be made about the quality of the production steps - OK or NOK - and enable tool wear to be detected early.
HBM says the process controller can be integrated seamlessly within the controller of a corresponding production system via a fieldbus interface such as Profibus, CANbus or Ethernet. The package additionally includes the FASTpress software suite, which also has a link for modern quality data management.
The use of modular components enables users to set up an appropriate application rapidly and efficiently. The complete packages, which feature precisely matched components, help engineers to to quickly and easily achieve high-quality production monitoring.
