LG Motion at Drives and Control 2014

LG Motion will highlight two separate motion control equipment ranges that cover a full spectrum of potential for machine builders across industry and science. The Basingstoke-based positioning equipment manufacturer and distributor will showcase two motion system extremes with simple cost-effective and space-saving microstepping packages from the USA stepper motor innovator Arcus Technology, as well as highly advanced distributed motion systems from the ultra-high performance motion control technology leader Precision MicroDynamics Inc (PMDi).

LG Motion at Drives and Control 2014

Suitable for laboratory automation, medical equipment and simple industrial automation and research applications, Arcus Technology's range includes integrated miniature stepper motors with built-in microstepping drives from NEMA size 11 to standalone intelligent drives for NEMA 23 motors with I/O capability for small-sized machines and motion projects. These plug and play packages include GUI based PC programmed or LabVIEW compatible motion controls - and are also available with USB 2.0, RS 485, Ethernet, Modbus and CANopen communications interfaces.

For applications where uncompromised high-performance multi-axis motion, data transfer and data collection is a pre-requisite, PMDi is a market leader. Its Polaris distributed and deterministic motion control platform allows automated machinery manufacturers the capability for nanosecond-level motion and machine synchronisation that includes robotic kinematic transforms and complex contoured motion for up to 124 axes. Comprising motion controllers, advanced servo drives and I/O modules, Polaris features full 64-bit double floating point calculations for very high levels of positioning accuracy, servo feedback rates and will enable sub-micron resolution for precision in motion system mechanics. High speed and acceleration, fast settling times and advanced controls will enable faster production throughput with straightforward and flexible programming for rapid software development.

LG Motion will also demonstrate its own range of in-house manufactured precision positioning mechanics as well as a variety of motion components - from encoders to linear bearings - from many of its distribution partners.
