Low-power 12-inch fanless panel PC for green automation
Advantech's Industrial Automation Group is launching a new high-performance multifunctional 12" Fanless Panel PC with optional resistive touchscreen. The PPC-3120 uses the latest generation of Intel's new Atom D2550 processor This CPU provides four times the graphics performance and a 40 per cent improvement on processing power compared with previous models, with energy save functions such as an auto-dimmable LED backlight. So it not only has more performance but saves energy as well.
The sensitivity of the light sensor to dim or brighten the screen can be adjusted through either the BIOS or the dedicated software application and therefore not only helps to reduce power consumption but it also delivers a better usability for the operator under difficult lighting conditions.
An additional power saving feature of the PPC-3120 is the built-in power management circuitry which complies with ErP Lot 6 and ensures that in standby the power consumption is less than 1W.
The PPC-3120 is equipped with an IP65-compliant front panel with LED indicators. Further, it offers dual GbE LAN for redundancy, four USB 2.0 ports and four serial ports. COM1/COM2 ports are equipped with through BIOS selectable power output for, for example, barcode scanners. With a wide range of DC power input support, the PPC-3120 will work stably between 12-30V DC, being compliant with the EMC immunity, emission standards - EN55011, 61000-6-2 and 61000-6-4 - for industrial environments.
Expansion capacities such as MiniPCIe, 1x PCI or optional 1x PCIe makes the PPC-3120 suitable for various industrial applications where additional expansion such as communication modules or additional I/O cards are required.
