Machinery Directive Harmonised Standards, 29 February 2012

New standards published in the 29 February list for the first time are as below. These are all type-C standards, relating to specific classes of machinery.

• EN 1034-3:2011 Safety of machinery - Safety requirements for the design and construction of paper making and finishing machines - Part 3: Rereelers and winders, which supersedes EN 1034-3:1999+A1:2009 on 30 June 2012
• EN 1114-1:2011 Plastics and rubber machines - Extruders and extrusion lines - Part 1: Safety requirements for extruders
• EN 1570-1:2011 Safety requirements for lifting tables - Part 1: Lifting tables serving up to two fixed landings, which supersedes EN 1570:1998+A2:2009 on 30 April 2012
• EN ISO 3450:2011 Earth-moving machinery - Wheeled or high-speed rubber- tracked machines - Performance requirements and test procedures for brake systems (ISO 3450:2011), which supersedes EN ISO 3450:2008 on 31 May 2012
• EN ISO 11148-2:2011 Hand-held non-electric power tools - Safety requirements - Part 2: Cutting-off and crimping power tools (ISO/FDIS 11148-2:2011), which supersedes EN 792-2:2000+A1:2008 on 30 June 2012
• EN ISO 11148-5:2011 Hand-held non-electric power tools - Safety requirements - Part 5: Rotary percussive drills (ISO 11148-5:2011), which supersedes EN 792-5:2000+A1:2008 on 30 June 2012
• EN ISO 11148-8:2011 Hand-held non-electric power tools - Safety requirements - Part 8: Sanders and polishers (ISO 11148-8:2011), which supersedes EN 792-8:2001+A1:2008 on 30 June 2012
• EN ISO 11148-9:2011 Hand-held non-electric power tools - Safety requirements - Part 9: Die grinders (ISO 11148-9:2011), which supersedes EN 792-9:2001+A1:2008 on 1 June 2012
• EN ISO 11148-10:2011 Hand-held non-electric power tools - Safety requirements - Part 10: Compression power tools (ISO 11148-10:2011), which supersedes EN 792- 10:2000+A1:2008 on 30 June 2012
• EN ISO 11148-11:2011 Hand-held non-electric power tools - Safety requirements - Part 11: Nibblers and shears (ISO 11148-11:2011), which supersedes EN 792-11:2000+A1:2008 on 30 June 2012
• EN ISO 11680-1:2011 Machinery for forestry - Safety requirements and testing for pole-mounted powered pruners - Part 1: Machines fitted with an integral combustion engine (ISO 11680-1:2011), which supersedes EN ISO 11680-1:2008 on 30 June 2012
• EN ISO 11680-2:2011 Machinery for forestry - Safety requirements and testing for pole-mounted powered pruners - Part 2: Machines for use with back-pack power source (ISO 11680-2:2011), which supersedes EN ISO 11680-2:2008 on 30 June 2012
• EN ISO 11681-1:2011 Machinery for forestry - Portable chain-saw safety requirements and testing - Part 1: Chain-saws for forest service (ISO 11681- 1:2011), which supersedes EN ISO 11681-1:2008 on 30 June 2012
• EN ISO 11681-2:2011 Machinery for forestry - Portable chain-saw safety requirements and testing - Part 2: Chain-saws for tree service (ISO 11681- 2:2011), which supersedes EN ISO 11681-2:2008 on 30 June 2012
• EN ISO 11806-1:2011 Agricultural and forestry machinery - Safety requirements and testing for portable, hand-held, powered brush-cutters and grass-trimmers - Part 1: Machines fitted with an integral combustion engine (ISO 11806-1:2011)
• EN ISO 11806-2:2011 Agricultural and forestry machinery - Safety requirements and testing for portable, hand-held, powered brush-cutters and grass-trimmers - Part 2: Machines for use with back-pack power unit (ISO 11806-2:2011)
• EN ISO 11850:2011 Machinery for forestry - General safety requirements (ISO 11850:2011), which supersedes EN 14861:2004+A1:2009 on 31 May 2012
• EN 12409:2008+A1:2011 Plastics and rubber machines - Thermoforming machines - Safety requirements, which supersedes EN 12409:2008 on 30 April 2012
• EN 14033-3:2009+A1:2011 Railway applications - Track - Railbound construction and maintenance machines - Part 3: General safety requirements, which supersedes EN 14033-3:2009 on 30 April 2012
• EN 15700:2011 Safety for conveyor belts for winter sport or leisure use
• EN 15746-2:2010+A1:2011 Railway applications - Track - Road-rail machines and associated equipment - Part 2: General safety requirements, which supersedes EN 15746-2:2010 on 30 April 2012
• EN 15997:2011 All terrain vehicles (ATVs - Quads) - Safety requirements and test methods
• EN ISO 22867:2011 Forestry and gardening machinery - Vibration test code for portable hand-held machines with internal combustion engine - Vibration at the handles (ISO 22867:2011), which supersedes EN ISO 22867:2008 on 30 June 2012
• EN 30326-1:1994/A2:2011 Mechanical vibration - Laboratory method for evaluating vehicle seat vibration - Part 1: Basic requirements (ISO 10326-1:1992), second amendment, which supersedes EN 30326-1:1994/A1:2007 on 30 June 2012
• EN 60335-1:2002/A15:2011 Household and similar electrical appliances - Safety - Part 1: General requirements (IEC 60335-1:2001 (Modified)), 15th amendment, which supersedes EN 60335-1:2002/A14:2010 on 2 May 2014
• EN 60745-2-4:2009/A11:2011 Hand-held motor-operated electric tools - Safety - Part 2-4: Particular requirements for sanders and polishers other than disk type (IEC 60745-2-4:2002 (Modified) + A1:2008 (Modified)), 11th amendment, which provides a presumption of conformity from 14 November 2014

• EN 267:2009 Automatic forced draught burners for liquid fuels ceased to provide a presumption of conformity on 29 February 2012. It is superseded by EN 267:2009+A1:2011
• EN 693:2001+A1:2009 Machine tools - Safety - Hydraulic presses ceases to provide a presumption of conformity on 31 March 2012. It is superseded by EN 693:2001+A2:2011
• EN 1127-1:2007 Explosive atmospheres - Explosion prevention and protection - Part 1: Basic concepts and methodology ceases to provide a presumption of conformity on 31 July 2014. It is superseded by EN 1127-1:2011
• EN 1501- 1:1998+A2:2009 Refuse collection vehicles - General requirements and safety requirements - Part 1: Rear loaded refuse collection vehicles ceased to provide a presumption of conformity on 29 February 2012. It is superseded by EN 1501-1:2011
• EN 1501- 1:1998+A2:2009 Refuse collection vehicles - General requirements and safety requirements - Part 5: Lifting devices for refuse collection vehicles ceased to provide a presumption of conformity on 29 February 2012. It is superseded by EN 1501-5:2011
• EN ISO 2867:2008 Earth-moving machinery - Access systems (ISO 2867:2011) ceases to provide a presumption of conformity on 31 July 2014. It is superseded by EN ISO 2867:2011
• EN ISO 10218-1:2008 Robots and robotic devices - Safety requirements for industrial robots - Part 1: Robots (ISO 10218-1:2011) ceases to provide a presumption of conformity on 1 January 2013. It is superseded by EN ISO 10218-1:2011
• EN ISO 12100-1:2003 Safety of machinery - Basic concepts, general principles for design - Part 1: Basic terminology, methodology, EN ISO 12100-2:2003 Safety of machinery - Basic concepts, general principles for design - Part 2: Technical principles and EN ISO 14121-1:2007 Safety of machinery - Risk assessment - Part 1: Principles cease to provide a presumption of conformity on 30 November 2013. All three are superseded by EN ISO 12100:2010 Safety of machinery - General principles for design - Risk assessment and risk reduction (ISO 12100:2010)
• EN 12649:2008 Concrete compactors and smoothing machines - Safety ceased to provide a presumption of conformity on 31 January 2012. It is superseded by EN 12649:2008+A1:2011
• EN ISO 13849-1:2006 Safety of machinery - Safety-related parts of control systems - Part 1: General principles for design and EN 954-1:1996 Safety of machinery - Safety related parts of control systems - General principles for design both ceased to provide a presumption of conformity on 31 December 2011. They are both superseded by EN ISO 13849-1:2008 Safety of machinery - Safety-related parts of control systems - Part 1: General principles for design (ISO 13849-1:2006)
• EN 60204-1:2006 Safety of machinery - Electrical equipment of machines - Part 1: General requirements (IEC 60204-1:2005 (Modified)) ceased to provide a presumption of conformity on 1 February 2012. It is superseded by EN 60204-1:2006/A1:2009 and there is a corrigendum EN 60204-1:2006/AC:2010
• EN 60745-1:2009 Hand-held motor-operated electric tools - Safety - Part 1: General requirements (IEC 60745-1:2006 (Modified)) ceases to provide a presumption of conformity on 1 October 2013. It will be superseded by EN 60745-1:2009/A11:2010
• EN 60745-2-13:2009 Hand-held motor-operated electric tools - Safety - Part 2-13: Particular requirements for chain saws (IEC 60745-2-13:2006 (Modified)) ceases to provide a presumption of conformity on 1 December 2013. It will be superseded by EN 60745-2-13:2009/A1:2010
• EN 60745-2-14:2009 Hand-held motor-operated electric tools - Safety - Part 2-14: Particular requirements for planers (IEC 60745-2-14:2003 (Modified) + A1:2006 (Modified)) ceases to provide a presumption of conformity on 1 June 2013. It will be superseded by EN 60745-2-14:2009/A2:2010
• EN 60745-2-19:2009 Hand-held motor-operated electric tools - Safety - Part 2-19: Particular requirements for jointers (IEC 60745-2-19:2005 (Modified)) ceases to provide a presumption of conformity on 1 June 2013. It will be superseded by EN 60745-2-19:2009/A1:2010
• EN 60745-2-21:2009 Hand-held motor-operated electric tools - Safety - Part 2-21: Particular requirements for drain cleaners (IEC 60745-2-21:2002 (Modified)) ceases to provide a presumption of conformity on 1 December 2013. It will be superseded by EN 60745-2-21:2009/A1:2010
• EN 61029-1:2009 Safety of transportable motor-operated electric tools - Part 1: General requirements (IEC 61029-1:1990 (Modified)) ceases to provide a presumption of conformity on 1 November 2013. It will be superseded by EN 61029-1:2009/A11:2010.
