This new appointment has also paved the way for a series of promotions within Stemmer Imaging's UK office. Steve Hearn has been promoted to the role of Director of Sales in the UK, while Chris Pitt and Alastair Slater have become group leaders for Solution Sales and Component Sales, respectively.

Williamson says: "In November 2010, Stemmer Imaging started a strategic planning process to ensure that the Group continues to deliver not only the best service to our customers but also to ensure that we offer the best of new vision technologies into the many emerging markets where vision has potential.

"Our ethos of delivering competitive advantage to our customers is central to this initiative. Given the importance of this approach, the Group felt that it warranted a new position within the organisation to spearhead these activities, and I am delighted to have been given this responsibility".
