Microscan is announcing new Microscan Link connectivity, providing vision engineers, programmers, and other users with additional options for communicating with Microscan smart cameras. Now available in AutoVISION machine vision software, the Microscan Link feature introduces an easy method to connect parameters inside AutoVISION jobs to outside industrial control systems with a single click on the "Link" icon within the software.
Whether communicating inspection results from a smart camera to a PLC, or communicating between multiple smart cameras remotely from a networked system, Microscan Link ensures reliable connectivity between AutoVISION and the entire factory floor. With the intuitive AutoVISION interface, this flexible data exchange requires no protocol knowledge. Microscan Link also allows job parameters to be changed from an outside system. For example, use an HMI to easily change a count value or alignment angle to match the product currently being produced.
Nico Hooiveld, Microscan's Machine Vision Product Manager, explains: "Microscan Link makes the integration of vision into any automation system very easy. From industrial Ethernet communication to discrete I/O and serial protocols, Microscan Link supports a wide range of automation systems and devices. AutoVISION and Microscan Link work together to provide seamless factory-wide communication through a simple interface and one-click connectivity."
AutoVISION machine vision software supports Microscan's Vision MINI and Vision HAWK Smart Cameras. With compact, fully integrated or C-Mount designs, the hardware line offers a range of products for easy integration into systems or existing assembly lines. For more complex applications, AutoVISION can be upgraded to Microscan's advanced Visionscape platform, which also supports the Microscan Link feature. This scalable format protects the customer's time, effort and capital investment in their system because it is expandable to handle cases where requirements extend beyond the scope of original application.
