Modular measuring amplifier system for production measurement

The amplifier samples signals at 19.2kHz, internally processes them and transfers the results in real time, enabling mean or limit values to be easily determined. Production processes such as fitting or pressing can be easily monitored. The modular system has been designed to meet the harsh demands of industrial environments and can easily be expanded, thereby minimising set-up and servicing times, and ensuring greater investment security.

Each PMX system comprises a basic unit that holds up to five plug-in cards. The first can be a communication card for Ethercat or Profinet Industrial Ethernet protocols, while the remaining four slots can be used for different amplifiers with four channels each; these are available for strain gauges (SG), analogue standard signals (current or voltage) and digital inputs/outputs.

HBM's PMX system can operate as a standalone device or as part of an automation network in which several PMX devices can be automatically synchronised. Set-up is straightforward with Ethernet utilised for connecting to a PC for configuration or visualisation. HBM provides web server technology for operating the PMX system so that separate software is not needed.
