Modules and accessories for rotary and linear motion
The new domiLINE adjusting slide from IEF Werner allows the linear system to be set up for the specific positioning needs of the application. In common with the entire domiLINE system, it is modular and available with a choice of complementary and innovative accessories that allow easy and precise modification. The domiLINE spindle driven linear motion system is subject to continuous development, and this addition considerably widens the scope of this linear motion system that already has a substantial, worldwide installed base.
Available in the UK from RA Rodriguez, this domiLINE introduction will benefit applications in processing, production and quality control that require elements to be precisely positioned; cutting or inkjet printer heads, cameras and sensors are typical examples.
The modularity and wide choice of slide widths has made domiLINE a popular choice for cost-effective, built-for-purpose configurations for X-Y, X-Z and X-Y-Z systems. In addition to the new adjusting slide, customers can also specify an MDV unit for precise, manual rotary adjustment.
IEF Werner's domiLINE MDV features high-quality worm gearing to minimise reversing backlash and a spindle support bearing to absorb high torque capacity; diameters of 55mm and 80mm are available.
Another option is an electronic position indicator that can be fitted to all slides and turntables in the domiLINE range. Four mounting variants are available for horizontal and vertical assembly and easy upgrade from analogue systems. The indicator allows absolute or incremental measurement to be taken with a resolution of 0.01mm for the slides and 0.1 degreee for the rotary units.
Low backlash is assured by domiLINE's spindle drive design. Pitches range from 0.5mm to 2mm, and precise manual positioning is achieved by the use of an adjustment dial with 0.05mm scale. The outer slide is positioned manually and fixed with a clamping lever.
To allow the clamp lever to be optimally positioned so as not to impede production but to remain accessible, IEF Werner slides can now be clamped on the spindle. Design modifications have also been made to the positioning adjustment system. A new angled drive gives the operator easy access to the adjustment dial.
As well as the introduction of a new end plate for easy assembly, new X-Y and X-Z connection sets are also available. These allow the dovetail guides to be optimally configured to suit the application without the need for additional machining. Completing the new additions to the IEF Werner domiLINE product programme is a bellow boot that protects the spindle in hostile operating environments.
